ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | In this thesis, we report the fabrication and optoelectronic measurement of the photoresponse in plain multilayer MnPS3 (MnPSe3), vertical MnPS3 (MnPSe3)-WS2 and MnPS3-MnPSe3 heterojunctions based photodetectors using focused incident laser spot (diameter ∼ 100μm) with different wavelengths (375nm, 405nm, 532nm and 660nm) under ambient conditions. We characterize the bandwidth, responsivity, quantum efficiency, noise equivalent power and detectivity of each of the assorted devices under specific conditions. We observe that forming heterojunction significantly improves the performance of the photodetector and MnPS3 based photodetector is very sensitive under the UV light, although MnPSe3 based photodetectors are broadband photodetectors. In addition, we use scanning focused laser beam to systematically modify the surface of MnPS3 flake and observe a significant enhancement of PL spectra after the surface engineering. | URI: | https://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/186882 |
