Swimming pool water quality and its management have earned widespread respect by swimming pool users recent years. Natural and artificial factors can both affect the quality of swimming pool water. So far relatively little studies have been conducted on swimming pool water management. This thesis systematically described the findings from a study on the degradation performance and formation of disinfection by-products of three PPCPs (caffeine, carbamazepine and DEET) by UV/chlorine processes in simulated swimming pool water. Overall, UV/chlorine AOP seems to be available for swimming pool water treatment because it can simultaneously remove the refractory contaminants as well as control DBPs formation in a reasonable range.
