Title: | EXPERIMENTAL AND NUMERICAL STUDY OF COASTAL SHEET-FLOW SEDIMENT TRANSPORT | Authors: | TAN WEIKAI | Keywords: | coastal sediment transport, oscillatory water tunnel, one-phase-flow model, net transport rates, sloping-bed effect, boundary-layer streaming | Issue Date: | 12-Aug-2020 | Citation: | TAN WEIKAI (2020-08-12). EXPERIMENTAL AND NUMERICAL STUDY OF COASTAL SHEET-FLOW SEDIMENT TRANSPORT. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | Sheet-flow sediment transport is an important topic for coastal sediment research. It usually occurs when strong waves propagate into shallow water areas. Accompanied by massive wave-averaged net transport rate, sheet flows are responsible for significant morphological evolution even over a short time scale. Therefore, many research efforts have been devoted to this topic over the past decades. However, as many factors control the net sheet-flow transport rates, it is still an unresolved problem to research community. This thesis aims to gain more insights into the mechanisms behind sheet flows. | URI: | https://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/185040 |
