Interests of Singaporeans in private investments in overseas properties have stirred a number of news reports lately. There have been a number of reports on the amount of private investments Singaporeans are "forking" out for property investments in countries such as United Kingdom, Australia, China and Malaysia. There have also been a number of advertisements on overseas properties for sale weekly. However, there is a lack of study on the profile of Singaporean investors in such properties which prompts the writer to make a research into this area of study. Hence, this study is on the profile of Singaporean investors in the K. L. condominium market. The objective of this study is to assist developers and marketing agents to find their target group so as to niche on this market segment. By targeting their products to the right group of investors, they will be able to cover a wider market than before and thus achieving higher sales. Through this study, the writer had segmented the market into demographic and behaviourial factors. In combining the factors of these two market segments, a target group has been selected. The writer concluded with suggesting a proper market positioning for the product so that developers and marketing agents can achieve a competitive advantage over other competitors. This study ends with some recommendations for future works.
