More and more real estate investors are investing in the Asia-Pacific Region. Amongst the Asia Pacific countries, Singapore has one of the most attractive investment climates. This dissertation aims to examine the characteristics of this investment trend and explores the real estate investment climate in Singapore. In this study, the focus of attention is on Singapore viz-a-viz Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Hong Kong as these countries are geographically and culturally close. They are also currently attracting increasing foreign investment. Among these markets, Singapore, with its combination of stable political and economic factors, coupled with a buoyant property market is predominantly popular with institutional investors. It is inevitable that future investment opportunities in the local property market would be limited due to the limited size of Singapore. Real estate investors may then be forced to diversify their investment elsewhere. Until that time, the conducive real estate investment climate in Singapore is apparently attracting multitudes of foreign investments here.
