The alkaline potassium iodide method had been employed to determine the concentration of ozone in this area. The sampling station was situated at Nanyang University which is about 3 kilometers away from the Jurong industrial estate The concentration of ozone was in the range of 0.1 to 1.0 pphm (part per hundred million), which is well below the acceptable limit set by other countries. Other methods were also employed as a check and the results agree well with that obtained from neutral--KI method. Furthermore, concentration of ozone was found to be directly related to temperature, but slightly dependent on rainfall. For relative humidity, no correlation can be established.
