dc.description.abstract | Design and construction are two interdependent stages in the lifecycle of an AEC project. This thesis presents a model to coordinate design and construction employing product as interface. Parameters play an important role in the coordination, through which product is connected with design and construction. A parameter can be in different states during design and construction. Process activities are characterized by using parameter states as their information inputs and outputs. The combination of the basic process activity--parameter state relationships forms a dependency network. Based on the network, several approaches can be used to solve the information coordination problems. This model should provide a better coordination of design and construction. The application of the model may improve the effectiveness and efficiency of AEC projects. | |
