The properties of NDV and the immune responses of broilers vaccinated with different dosages and modes of virus preparation of Lentogenic and Mesogenic NDV were studied, (1) Lentogenic and Mesogenic NDV, with cytopathic effect of 1010.5 /ml and 108.5/ml respectively, were thermolabile. (2) The chick embryos and 3-days old broilers were unable to synthesize antibody. (3) The higher concentration of virus gave better antibody production in primary and secondary responses, without affecting body weights. When virus prepared in Freund Adjuvants, primary response was greatly enhanced. (4) Either the maternal antibody, which diminished within 5-weeks ,or the residual antibody, interfered with the immune responses after vaccination.
