Abstract: In view of the aforementioned issues, the overall objective of this research is to synthesis and application of the various low index facets of TiO2 including {001}, {101} and {010} for photocatalytic degradation of the organic pollutants ( PPCPs, COD of wastewater) in the water and wastewater in the batch and continuous system; for the continuous system, several photoreactors design and building are carried out and their capacity for application in the industrial-scale is investigated. The pathway of photocatalytic degradation of the ACE (as PPCP pollutant) including the intermediate formation and final product detection, is also studied. The mechanism of synthesized facets for photocatalytic degradation of the pollutants is investigated. The specific objectives are listed as follows: Objective 1- Synthesis of the anatase TiO2 rich in {001} (T-{001}) facet and study of the mechanism of photocatalytic degradation of acetaminophen under UVC light irradiation and synthesis of self-gravity settling faceted-anatase TiO2 with dominant {010} facets for the photocatalytic degradation of acetaminophen. Objective 2- Degradation of acetaminophen in a photocatalytic (batch and continuous systems) process by application of faceted-TiO2 under UVC light irradiation; synthesis of faceted-TiO2 pellets and its application in a packed bed photoreactor (PBR) for photocatalytic degradation of ACE.
