dc.description.abstract | This study presents an analysis on the Interaction between the social worker and the client. The study focuses on the types of client responses produced through specific use of worker skills. For the purpose of analysis, a categorical coding system tor classifying social worker behaviours and client response behaviours was developed. Audio-tapes of social work sessions were collected and transcriptions of the sessions were duly scored to reveal In out-mode client and worker transactions. A matrix constructed from the raw data was found useful to reveal the interactional relationships of the worker and client behaviours. The results obtained showed local social workers to be considerably positive in their interactions. The hypothesis that positive social worker stimuli generated positive client response was demonstrated to be affirmative. | |
