Over the years, the number of Strata Title properties has been steadily increasing. Due to the increasing complexity of modern high-rise buildings, management and maintenance of the building requires expert knowledge and skill. There is, therefore, an increasing trend for property management agencies to undertake maintenance and management. Professional property management of the building stock is necessary to preserve the value of the capital assets. The author foresees that the role of managing agents is likely to be of increasing importance. This dissertation, therefore, examines the types of management agencies which dominate the local scene. In particular, the author probes into the management difficulties encountered by these agents and makes recommendations for necessary improvements.
