Perovskites are often processed into thin films comprising of small crystals for achieving outstanding electronic performances. To understand their structural properties and performance, it is essential to prepare large perovskite crystals with high quality to measure structural and property changes under various conditions. Herein, we developed a fast seeded-growth method to synthesize and characterize large perovskite crystals via inverse temperature crystallization. First, high-quality NH2CH = NH2PbI3 crystals in cm size are synthesized to identify their facets and investigate their anisotropic thermoelectric characteristics. The structural stability and instabilities in individual crystals are carefully studied and understood by changing environmental humidity and temperature, providing direct insights to fabricate devices and improve their performance. Meanwhile, novel perovskite crystals of (CH3)3SOPbI3 are designed and synthesized to show its anisotropic electric conductive behaviour. Further, perovskite films are produced on mesoporous TiO2 to test their performance in solar cells including the influence of humidity.
