MATCHING AND PRICING FOR SHARED MOBILITY PROGRAMS IN ROAD NETWORKS. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | Shared mobility programs, such as ridesharing and ridehailing, provide convenient ride-share matching services to travelers based on the proximity in their time preferences and itineraries. Ridesharing drivers have their own origins and destinations but the dedicated drivers in ridehailing systems do not. Exploring travelers’ decision-making may help understand the effects of ride-share services on system performance and facilitate the planning or operation of shared mobility platforms. The dissertation aims to model the ride-share matching in such systems by capturing the multi-dimensional decisions of travelers and design regulation strategies to manage the planning and operation. To achieve the objectives, the dissertation formulates both dynamic and static equilibrium models to study the user-optimal matching problems for ridesharing. It further extends the user-optimal behavioral assumption and develops an optimization model to investigate the matching problem in a ridehailing system with boundedly rational riders. | URI: | https://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/164031 |
