dc.description.abstractVendor's kiosks are a common feature in pedestrian malls and shopping centres. They are typically smaller than shops but enjoy better frontage and visibility. The difference between kiosks and shops indicates that while some trades may do well in kiosks, others cannot operate in kiosks at all. The type of goods sold and the expectation of retailers would determine the choice of retail space required. From the management's viewpoint, the inclusion of kiosks in shopping complexes has various implications. One of the main considerations is whether the inclusion would affect the image attached to the complex. With the changing shopping trends and higher expectation of customers, there is a need to review the merits and demerits of having kiosks in complexes. While retailers should consider kiosks as an alternative to shops for their business, building owners should decide whether to include them in order to achieve a better mix of tenants.
