dc.description.abstractThis thesis focus on using cache models to combine the three different ways for analyzing and improving the effectiveness of multi-cache systems. To be specific, the cache model called Cache Miss Equation is applied into the modeling of different cache architectures and a specific caching policy to give solutions to three different problems. The first solution is for the resource planning problem in a 3-level cache architecture. The second one is for the cache modeling problem for a cache tree structure, which is an extension of the 3-level architecture. The last one is for the modeling of a particular cache replacement policy since it can also be considered as a multi-cache system.
