Abstract: Thai Buddhism is getting more widespread in Singapore. Thus it is important for us to understand the various aspects of Thai Buddhism and the part it plays in our society. It is the aim of this academic exercise to provide an introduction to the study of Thai Buddhism within the cultural setting of Singapore. This study describes the various Thai temples and gives a detail account of Thai temple worship and ceremonies. Specifically in this academic exercise, the relationship between the monks and the laymen as viewed through the respective roles of the Thai monks and the laity in Singapore are also examined.
