Abstract: The increasing scarcity of land will continue to impose on the Estate Manager a need to reach higher levels of sophistication and standards in his work. The recipients of such work are beginning to realise that the Estate Manager not only possess a professional status, but a professional liability as well. Such a change in the attitude of consumers must put the Estate Manager on his guard. Because the local courts are bereft of any decided cases against Estate Managers, they must look to the Commonwealth Courts. The prudent Estate Manager should take the initiative of being forewarned by keeping himself informed of the developments in the Commonwealth Courts that may affect his liability and his standard. This is the primary aim of the dissertation.
