Real estate syndication is a business venture into the real estate industry by a group of people. It is a growing industry in the United States. There are many applications of the principle of syndication; syndicated homes are but one of them. Home syndication is a partnership of a group of prospective homeowners for the development of a property for themselves. Unlike conventional home purchase, home syndication allows the syndicators to participate fully in the development process. This study intends to delve into the practice of home syndication in Singapore. The organisation of the syndicate as well as the problems encountered in the process of syndication are examined. The reasons underlying home syndication are also discussed. The importance of home syndication in Singapore and its likely impact on the real estate industry are discussed.
