Abstract: Condominiums are an important and viable housing choice for many people. The condominium form of ownership is not a whim; it is an important long term housing option for land scarce Singapore. Therefore, it is imperative that real estate professionals and developers be aware of emerging needs, tastes and preferences in condominium ownership. As condominium occupants' tastes and preferences become more sophisticated, identifying and understanding occupants' desires helps developers implement strategies to deal with future challenges in the ever-changing condominium market. This dissertation is an attempt to identify the features salient in the householder's choice of a condominium dwelling. Such knowledge is useful as a basis for the evaluation and further improvement in the quality of future condominium housing in Singapore. It is hoped that this dissertation will make a modest contribution to the present dearth of literature on the selection criteria of condominium in Singapore.
