C terrace workshops are intended for small local supporting industries. These industries provide essential services or intermediate goods to the larger industries in JTC industrial estates. JTC terrace workshops are presently located in Jurong, Kallang Basin, Yew Tee and Kranji industrial estates. With the emphasis shifting to self-sufficiency of industrial estates, more workshop complexes are being planned and incorporated into the new JTC industrial bases. The present administration and control of JTC workshops are adequately based on sound estate management principles. The rentals and selling prices of the workshops are found to be reasonable. The sample survey of workshops in Pandan indicates that small industrialists are generally satisfied with the existing location and type of facilities provided. The limitation of the industrialists' financial abilities is the principal deterring factor in the purchase of such workshops.
