Abstract: This thesis examines the interface of semantics and syntax of V-shang. It presents its lexical semantic network of shang, and three types of events structures of V-shang. Besides,a three-level of aspect system is proposed. Hence, this study gives us a detailed and comprehensive analysis of V-shang (Verb-directional construction). We get to know that verb-directional construction is not a type of resultative verb construction, but resultative verb construction is a type of verb-directional construciton.
