Abstract: Next Generation Network (NGN) is believed to be a multi-service core network to support proliferate services. In such network, selecting a feasible path has to consider multi-class traffic loads. Although several studies addressed this issue, they did not consider delay-sensitive traffic. In this thesis, we thus study the QoS routing based on bandwidth-delay-guaranteed QoS traffic and best-effort traffic. We first present an industry applicable QoS routing algorithm for bandwidth and delay constrained traffic. Then we extend the algorithm to a multi-class adaptive routing algorithm addressing multi-class traffic loads. The performance of extended algorithm is studied through simulations. The experimental results demonstrate that the routing algorithm can lead to certain performance improvements for best-effort traffic for most of the scenarios although the efficiency of the algorithm is undermined by more stringent delay constraints and unique properties of the links in the network.
