Title: | A new form of the C-metric | Authors: | HONG CHONG MING, KENNETH | Keywords: | Black hole, C-metric, Exact solution, Charged C-metric, Pair of accelerating black holes, New form of the C-metric | Issue Date: | 21-Jul-2006 | Citation: | HONG CHONG MING, KENNETH (2006-07-21). A new form of the C-metric. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | The C-metric describes a pair of black holes uniformly acceleratingapart from each other. We advocate a new form of the C-metric, whichis related to the traditional one by a coordinate transformation. Ithas the advantage that its properties become much simpler toanalyze. We explore the extension of this idea to the rotating(charged) C-metric. However, it turns out that the new form of therotating C-metric is physically distinct from the one in thetraditional form, and so they cannot be related by a coordinatetransformation. | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/15473 |
