Issue Date: | 2008 | Citation: | LEUNG MAN YIN (2008). NANOGAP DEVICES FOR BIOSENSING. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | The life-science field had been a fast growing field. The traditional method of DNA detection requires much effect and time. There is now a pressing need for fast DNA detection methods. Past work had been done to detect DNA based on its conductivity properties; however, most of these detection devices require complicated fabrication processes. Thus, in this study, a simple method which involved electron- beam lithography and thermal evaporation is demonstrated to produce nanogap electrodes. These nanogap electrodes have been observed to be well- controlled in gap- size and repeatable. Tunneling current was measured on these nanogap electrodes. Following functionalized with DNA in gold nanoparticle solution. These electrodes demonstrated the ability to detect fully-complementary target DNA. | URI: | https://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/153950 |
