dc.description.abstractIn this thesis, the procedure to perform the static and dynamic analysis of three-dimensional solids is developed using Radial Point Interpolation Method (RPIM). The system equations are formulated according to Galerkin weak form and PIM shape functions with radial-polynomial basis. The accuracy and efficiency of RPIM for static analysis, modal analysis and transient dynamic analysis of 3D solids are verified through a benchmark example of cantilever beam. The advantage of RPIM is demonstrated by the comparison with finite element method. The pre-processor and post-processor for RPIM are also developed and some practical examples from industries are used to test the performance of RPIM. It is concluded that RPIM is an efficient numerical tool for the static and dynamic analysis of 3D solids with desired accuracy.
