This report examines the impact of environmental changes on the telecommunication service industry in Singapore. First, an overview is given of the environmental changes. The global telecommunication service industry is then analysed for a good appreciation of its characteristics. Responses of a few countries to the environmental changes are outlined. Finally, the Singapore situation is analysed to identify the critical issues underlying the adaptation to environmental changes in the Singapore telecommunication service industry. Some indications are given of the likely future development of the industry.
