Abstract: This research concentrates on two major areas of a stack architecture, namely high level language support and low level instruction execution. In the first area, improved control flow and data structure support are studied. For the low level instruction execution, superscalar and speculative execution techniques are incorporated. As a platform for experimenting with these mechanisms, we designed and implemented a simulator for a new stack architecture, named as SAFA (Stack And Frame Architecture).
