ROUTING AND CONTROL OF AGV SYSTEMS IN THE MEGA AUTOMATED CONTAINER TERMINAL. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | In the mega automated container terminal, a good scheme for routing and control of AGVs is studied to improve the system efficiency and operating performance in this thesis. A two-layer network is proposed to represent the traffic system. Through proposed structure, the traffic network can be divided into sectors and each sector contains the detailed paths. Based on the division, original AGV routing problem is broken down into two sub-problems and solved in a hierarchical manner. In the upper layer, a global between-sector routing integrated with traffic network design is studied, where both AGVs’ sector-based routes and directions of links are determined. In the lower layer, a local within-sector routing problem is studied to construct optimal paths for AGVs without any collisions. Finally, a traffic control and coordination problem is studied. A hybrid traffic control strategy combining the First-Come-First-Serve rule with smart virtual traffic light control is further proposed. | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/151221 |
