Abstract: Hybrid van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures constructed by the integration of organic molecules and two-dimensional (2D) transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) materials exhibit exotic and versatile properties for flexible electronic devices. To further improve device performance with such hybrid heterointerfaces, it is crucial for us to understand the interfacial interactions and interfacial electronic properties between organic molecules and 2D-TMDs. In this thesis, we present a systematic study on the atomic and electronic properties of organic/2D TMD heterointerfaces, using a combination STM/STS and PES measurements in conjunction with theoretical calculations.
