dc.description.abstractRecently, organo-metallic lead halide perovskites pushed the frontiers of photovoltaic research, exhibiting remarkable photoconversion efficiency and positioning themselves as prominent light absorbers in the field of solar cell development. One of the most pressing issues impeding further improvements is elucidation of working mechanism in fully assembled perovskite solar cells. This thesis tackles critical questions related to the mapping of charge transport, understanding the nature of interplay between charge carriers and interface properties within planar and mesoporous perovskite based solar cells, while closely mirroring realistic photoconversion conditions. The work presented within the thesis contributes to a deeper understanding of perovskite based solar cells, their inner workings and effect of interface properties on charge transport. Obtained results identify critical aspects of device architecture and the impact they carry on the charge transport and by extension, on the overall behaviour of perovskite solar cells operating under realistic light harvesting conditions.
