|Title:||Applying combinatorial techniques to two problems in computational biology||Authors:||CHEN WEI||Keywords:||algorithm, blast, patternhunter, seed, motif-finding||Issue Date:||21-Jul-2004||Citation:||CHEN WEI (2004-07-21). Applying combinatorial techniques to two problems in computational biology. ScholarBank@NUS Repository.||Abstract:||In this thesis, combinatiorial techniques are used to solve two computational biology problems, homology searching and motif finding. The first problem is solved by providing a new kind of search pattern, and a new algorithm is proposed for the latter one. The solutions improve the performance and quality of current methedologies and the improvement has been proven by series of experimental results.||URI:||http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/14167|
