Abstract: The objective of the study is to understand the flow behaviours inside a ESP provided by a major oil company. This can be achieved through detailed Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis and experimental studies. CFD analysis were performed for 3D simulations for single phase flow and gradually two phase flow. In addition, experimental data was used to validate the simulation results. The insights and knowledge gained from the investigations can be useful in understanding the fluid flow in mixed flow pumps, and suggesting improvements for the optimization of the ESP.
