This dissertation mainly discusses the following research questions: how did the ci writers from the Wangs reflect their family education and regional tradition in their works? What is the relationship between the Wangs family education and the College of the Sea of Learning as well as regional culture? How did the ci writers achieve similar or different cultural identification in the process of ci writing? On the other hand, how did this cultural and personal identification affect the works of the ci writers? Does the nature of ci determine the way in which the ci writers express their emotions in their work? To respond to these questions, this study attempts to explore the relationship between ci genre and personal cultural identification in its original historical and cultural contexts through detailed textual analysis.
