Abstract: The concept of redox targeting reaction is interesting as it is at the frontier of fundamental studies and also has important applications in solar energy conversion and energy storage devices. However, study of redox targeting reaction is only at infant stage and this topic needs to be investigated further. The aim of this thesis is exploring more possibilities of redox targeting reaction in order to realize novel component in solar cell or superior integrated solar battery. Our work includes proposing osmium complex molecules modified mesoporous Indium tin oxide as a new type of counter electrode in dye-sensitized solar cell based on the redox-catalysis approach; introducing a solid energy storage material-Prussian Blue in a solar rechargeable flow battery to improve the photoelectrode performance and increase the system’s energy density; demonstrating a novel solar rechargeable Li-O2 battery with TEMPO as the bridge redox mediator to address the issue of high charging overpotential.
