Title: | Temperature rise of cement blends | Authors: | AGNES GALANG | Keywords: | concrete, temperature rise, fly ash, silica fume, ground granulated blast furnace slag, temperature match conditioning | Issue Date: | 18-Dec-2003 | Citation: | AGNES GALANG (2003-12-18). Temperature rise of cement blends. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | This study aims to investigate the temperature rise of various binders under adiabatic conditions. Furthermore, it seeks to evaluate the effect of the amount of binder and the water-binder ratio on the temperature rise of concrete. The study is carried out using a Temperature Match Conditioning (TMC) System whose performance was evaluated prior to the investigation of the main objectives. To investigate the temperature rise of various binders, fly ash, silica fume, and ground granulated blast furnace slag were used as cement replacement. Each material had two levels of replacement and each replacement level was investigated using four different amounts of binder. The temperature rise of the various binders was evaluated in terms of the maximum adiabatic temperature rise and the time at which this is reached. The blended cements all had a lower adiabatic temperature rise compared to the plain OPC concrete. | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/13559 |
