Abstract: Over the past five decades, numerous advances have been made to our understanding of Turner syndrome, with respect to the genetics and pathophysiologic mechanisms giving rise to the Turner phenotype. Growth in the Turner patients has been extensively studied, and an update on the recommended therapeutic regimens to improve short stature in Turner syndrome is presented. The role of sex hormone replacement, and the prospects of pregnancy are discussed, with an overview of the physical and psychosocial issues encountered in managing the child with Turner syndrome.
