dc.description.abstract | Attaining high software throughput would be highly sought by countries targeting huge software exports like those of East Asia. Raising software throughput can be achieved through diffusing software-based innovations and technologies on a substantial scale with a robust, consistent and efficient means of producing quality and reliable software. A good approach for such software producing process would be a Software Factory approach, developing software in a production-like manner and within a factory-like environment, and then diffusing the software to the adopters. In this thesis, we focused on generating an empirically supported formal productivity method of an extended Software Factory approach for generation and diffusion of software-based innovations/technologies. The framework of the extended Software Factory approach is a set of process-oriented descriptions that depicts and describes a software productivity methodology and the transfer of the software to the software technology adopters. The empirically generated framework for the extended Software Factory approach is appropriate for organisations undertaking the role of generating and diffusing software-based innovations/technologies. | |
