dc.description.abstractA brief overview of the Herculean tasks undertaken by the governments of Hong Kong & Singapore to provide public housing for their peoples in various new towns developed. About 50% & 80% of the population of Hong Kong & Singapore, respectively, have been resettled into new towns. Such large-scale movement has created a reorganization of the social structure of each society. Some consequential effects of these changes are discussed. Modified AA.
