Abstract: The design and optimization of UWB antennas by a powerful CAD tool 'PULSE KIT' is discussed. The 'PULSE KIT' adapts the generalized friis transmisson formula to combine the transmitting and receiving antennas for analyzing time and frequency domains. The 'PULSE KIT' has been developed to facilitate the design of source and template pulse. The example of planar diamond antenna proves the utilization of 'PULSE KIT' as a powerful tool to speed up the optimization procedure.
