Abstract: FOOD INSECURITY, WHICH IS DEFINED AS THE INCONSISTENT ACCESS TO AN APPROPRIATE AMOUNT OF FOOD THAT IS SAFE AND NUTRITIOUS FOR THE HUMAN BODY, IS A HEALTH DISPARITY ASSOCIATED WITH ADVERSE HEALTH OUTCOMES IN THE SHORT AND LONG TERM. IN THE SINGAPORE CONTEXT, FOOD INSECURITY IS RARELY DISCUSSED IN MAINSTREAM DISCOURSE, AND THERE IS A DEARTH OF LITERATURE STUDYING THIS ISSUE FROM A HEALTH COMMUNICATION PERSPECTIVE. BASED ON THE NOTION THAT COMMUNICATIVE INEQUITIES AND THE ABSENCE OF VOICES FROM THE MARGINS FROM THE DOMINANT DISCURSIVE SPACE ARE TIED TO THE CONTINUED DISENFRANCHISEMENT OF MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES, THIS RESEARCH STUDY SEEKS TO UNDERSTAND THE NATURE OF FOOD INSECURITY IN SINGAPORE, HOW THE FOOD INSECURE COPE AND NEGOTIATE THEIR EVERYDAY CHALLENGES, AND HOW THIS EXPERIENCES CONNECTS WITH STRUCTURAL INEQUITIES IN THE LOCAL CULTURAL CONTEXT. WITH THE CULTURE-CENTERED APPROACH AS A THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK, THE MAIN FOCUS OF THIS RESEARCH IS TO PRIVILEGE THE UNHEARD VOICES AND STOR
