Abstract: LABOUR MIGRATION, PARTICULARLY THE INCREASING FEMINISATION OF MOVEMENTS, IN THIS GLOBALISED ERA HAS AN INCREASING IMPACT ON FAMILY STRUCTURES, CARE ARRANGEMENTS, GENDER SUBJECTIVITIES, AND FAMILIAL RELATIONSHIPS. THIS STUDY EXAMINES THE GENDERED NARRATIVES OF INDONESIAN AND FILIPINO LEFT-BEHIND CARERS AND CHILDREN IN TANDEM WITH RETURN MIGRANTS IN UNDERSTANDING CHANGING CARE ARRANGEMENTS, GENDER SUBJECTIVITIES (BOTH MASCULINITIES AND FEMININITIES), AS WELL AS GENDER AND INTERGENERATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS WITHIN THE HOUSEHOLD IN THE WAKE OF LABOUR MIGRATION. USING BOTH QUANTITATIVE AND QUALITATIVE INTERVIEW MATERIALS, THIS STUDY FIRST TRACES HOW CAREWORK IS (RE)DISTRIBUTED, AND SUBSEQUENTLY, HOW GENDER ROLES, SUBJECTIVITIES AND RELATIONSHIPS OF SPECIFIC MEMBERS WITHIN THE TRANSNATIONAL FAMILY, BOTH MALE AND FEMALE, YOUNG AND OLD, ARE NEGOTIATED AND ALTERED OVER TIME THROUGH THE DIFFERENT STAGES OF MIGRATION SPANNING DEPARTURE AND RETURN. OVERALL, THE STUDY ATTEMPTS TO CAPTURE THE DYNAMISM
