dc.description.abstract | This thesis explores new well-organized redox-active ferrocene (Fc)-containing polymer brushes on ITO. Such polymer brushes were generated by surface initiated atom transfer radical polymerization. They have different side chain lengths which contribute to the different packing structures and nanomechanical properties. The charge transport behaviours of these polymer brushes were studied by the "EGaIn (eutectic gallium indium) technique". Temperature dependent measurements were performed to understand the charge transport mechanisms: the trap-filling space charge limited conduction based hopping dominates the charge transport for brushes with large thickness (> 20 nm) | |
