Abstract: This thesis aims to understand the growth of Christianity in Korea and how it became a religion that the Korean converts grew to identify themselves with instead of seeing it as one that is foreign. This is done by by tracing the historical roots of the religion and the interaction between the western missionaries and the Korean converts to see how these processes helped transformed the way in which the Koreans viewed and practiced the religion.
