dc.description.abstract | Reaction of CdCl 2 with 1,4-diazabicyclo[2,2,2]octane (dabco) in CH 2Cl 2 solvent gave a neutral binuclear chloride bridged cadmium (II) complex, [{Cl 2Cd(dabco-CH 2Cl)} 2(μ-Cl) 2], 1 which was characterized by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy in solution and by X-ray crystallography in the solid state. In 1, the Cd(II) centers are bonded to two terminal and two doubly bridging chloride atoms and a nitrogen atom of the alkylated dabco ligand to have trigonal bipyramidal geometry. | |
