dc.description.abstractA novel dual-path detection approach is presented to study multilevel decision feedback equalization (MxDFE) type detectors. The basic idea is to allow new erasures in the decision interval. For purposes of illustration, it is supposed that an erasure occurred at n. Error types are classified into three different types: type-1; type-2; and type-3. The options in the decision interval when any of the errors occur are detailed.
