ScholarBank@NUS Repository. https://doi.org/10.1109/ICIEA.2012.6360795 | Abstract: | This paper proposes LMI-based design procedures for two classes of unknown input observers (UIOs) for the purpose of fault detection and isolation (FDI). The design procedures for the first class of UIOs can not only relax the restrictions on the rank of output and noise, but also take into account both robustness and sensitivity to UIOs. Several tuning techniques are also provided. For the second class of UIOs, an alternative structure is recommended to reduce the design complexity in multiple-fault cases. We analyze the advantages and weaknesses of the proposed approaches, and utilize a linearized model of fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with disturbance as the design platform to illustrate their performance. © 2012 IEEE. | Source Title: | Proceedings of the 2012 7th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications, ICIEA 2012 | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/111572 | ISBN: | 9781457721175 | DOI: | 10.1109/ICIEA.2012.6360795 |
