Abstract: The microstructure, static and magnetic properties of W-type barium ferrites were analyzed which were doped with small amounts of SiO 2. The doping of SiO 2 significantly modified complex permittivity and permeability. The increase in permittivity was observed due to formation of Fe 2+ and Si 4+ ions which entered crystal lattice of barium ferrites. The complex permeability spectra was decomposed into two components associated with natural resonance and wall resonance.
