dc.description.abstractThe examination of freshwater shrimp collection from six islands of the Philippines, namely Luzon, Mindoro, Panay, Cebu, Palawan and Mindanao, reveals the presence of 35 species of freshwater shrimps, 17 species of atyids, including four new species, Caridina cebuensis, C. buhi, C. palawanensis, C. mindanao, and six new records; 17 species of palaemonids, including two Palaemon, and 15 Macrobrachium species (three of which are new records); and one species of alpheid, which is also a new record for the Philippines. In the present publication, full descriptions for the new species, diagnoses for new records, and taxonomie discussions for all species are provided. © National University of Singapore.
