ScholarBank@NUS Repository.||Abstract:||High laminarinase activity was observed in the digestive tract of the rabbitfish, Siganus canaliculatus (PARK). Crude extracts of the intestine were used to examine some properties of the laminarinase using laminarin as substrate. At 37 °C, maximum activity was observed at pH 6.0. The optimum temperature was 45°C. The activation energy, Ea, was estimated to be 2960 cal/mol.
