ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | For an integer M > 1 and a prime p ≥ 5 not dividing M, we study the kernel of the degeneracy map MP,P R → MPr,p where MP,P and MPr,P are the component groups of Jo(Mp) and Jo(Mpr), respectively. This is then used to determine the kernel of the degeneracy map Jo(Mp)2 →Jo(Mp2) when Jo(M) = 0.
